One hundred days in office, Bihar CM dedicates projects worth ₹11,464 crore

After completing 100 days in office, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday (July 25, 2026) inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 2,476 development projects worth ₹11,464 crore.

Mr. Choudhary was sworn in as Prime Minister on April 15 and completed 100 days on July 23. He claimed that many historic decisions were taken within 100 days in all sectors be it education, health, industry, agriculture, infrastructure and good governance. He added that the overall development of Bihar has got a new impetus.

“With the cooperation and trust of the people, the resolution for a prosperous Bihar will surely be realised. In the years to come, Bihar will emerge as a major engine of national development, investment, employment, innovation and industrial progress,” Mr Choudhary said while attending a program organized at BIT Mesra campus in Patna to mark the completion of 100 days of his government.

Servant of the people

In his speech, the Chief Minister said that the government belongs to the people of Bihar and that he is the servant of the people. He emphasized that every decision taken during the first 100 days was dedicated to public interest, good governance and all-round development of Bihar.

He said the opportunity to serve as the Chief Minister of Bihar is an emotional moment for him. Mr. Choudhary also said that continuous efforts are being made to ensure self-sufficiency for the 14 million people of Bihar and to transform the state into a developed state.

The Chief Minister announced that development projects worth ₹11,464 crore have been undertaken for the progress of the state. These projects will expand facilities related to roads, bridges, education, health, irrigation, industry and drinking water, he added.

List of achievements

Enumerating his government’s achievements, Mr. Choudhary said that since independence till recently there were only 278 degree colleges in the state and his government recently inaugurated 211 colleges across the state in a single day. In addition, 551 schools have been converted into model schools.

He urged the officials to work 15 to 18 hours a day to transform Bihar into a prosperous state. “We have to work to create at least one industry in every district. Our aim is to attract ₹5 lakh crore worth of investment to Bihar by November 20,” added Mr. Choudhary.

“The government is working to create large-scale employment opportunities for the youth by encouraging major investments in sectors such as textiles, food processing and electronics. Work is underway to build the country’s largest airport at Sonepur and a new airport is also being built at Sultanganj,” Choudhary said.

Stating that Bihar is the youngest and most energetic state of the country, he added that in the coming years, Bihar would emerge as a major engine of national development, investment, employment, innovation and industrial progress.

Mr Choudhary also launched a magazine and a coffee table book highlighting the achievements of his first 100 days in office.
