Major Ravi tries to downplay Vismaya Mohanlal’s social media post in support of student protesters in Delhi

After actor Mohanlal Vismaya’s daughter faced a cyber attack for condemning the actions of the Delhi Police to “suppress” the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led student protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the paper leak and NEET-UG reforms, leading film director and Bharatiya Jana Majorvi on Thursday (Bharatiya P2 Majorvi Party) 2026) tried played down her viral Instagram post, saying her reaction stemmed from compassion rather than politics.

According to him, Vismaya, who was born and raised in Vietnam, does not have much political education. Stating that he had known Vismaya since childhood, Mr. Ravi described her as a sensitive and kind person, saying that she was always deeply moved by the suffering of others, recalling that she would even cry if she saw stray animals in need.

’emotional response’

He said the visuals of students being beaten during the protests probably triggered her emotional reaction, he said in a social media post.

He also rejected suggestions that Vismaya’s post reflected a political stance, saying it was unlikely that she was aware of the political aspects surrounding the NEET controversy or the alleged funding for the protests. He also criticized those who tried to portray her as a CJP supporter.

Vismaya had earlier shared a post on Instagram asking, “Do you really believe this is how a democracy should react to its own citizens? The post drew praise from supporters of the student protests, while others took to social media to criticize both Vismaya and her father, actor Mohanlal.”
