Two laborers were killed and one injured in a boring accident in Beed

Two laborers were killed and a minor boy was injured after he fell during a boring job in a village in Maharashtra’s Beed district, police said on Saturday (May 23, 2026).

The accident took place near Kharat Adgaon in Majalgaon tehsil on Friday (May 22) evening, an official said. Workers were standing on a swing platform suspended inside the well to install a horizontal drilling machine when it snapped and fell into the well, causing the trio to fall, he said.

Two workers died while a 16-year-old male who was part of the team sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a rural hospital in Majalgaon, the official said.

Efforts are on to retrieve the body of one of the workers, he said, adding that the police are registering a case of accidental death.
