Khloe Kardashian Reveals "Pivotal Moment" That Ended Her Marriage to Lamar Odom
Khloe Kardashian has opened up about the turbulent marriage she had with former NBA player Lamar Odom, revealing the "pivotal moment" that led to their split in 2016.
In a recent episode of her podcast "Strong Looks Better Naked", Khloe Kardashian candidly spoke about the dark times she and Odom went through during their marriage, which was marked by infidelity and addiction issues. According to Khloe, there was a turning point in 2013, when Odom was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, that ultimately led to the demise of their relationship.
"2013 was a very pivotal moment in my life. I was really feeling like my world was coming down around me. Lamar’s behavior was changing, and it was affecting my whole life. He was starting to drink and use drugs a lot more. And I felt like I was stuck in a cycle of toxic behavior," Khloe revealed on her podcast.
The reality star also spoke about how she had initially tried to stick by Odom, even when his actions became increasingly problematic. However, the arrest incident in 2013 marked the beginning of the end for the couple.
"The drinking and using, it got worse and worse. And eventually, I hit my breaking point. I had to make the decision to separate and then get a divorce," Khloe stated, adding that she had hoped that Odom would seek help for his addiction, but that didn’t happen.
The separation was a painful process for Khloe, who has spoken publicly about the struggles she faced while dealing with the fallout of the marriage. "I was very unhappy, but I was still in love with him. And I thought maybe he could get help, and maybe we could work through our issues. But that didn’t happen," she said.
After their divorce was finalized in 2016, Khloe and Odom remained friends, but it was evident that the bond they once shared was irreparably damaged.
The revelation has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many fans commiserating with Khloe about the heartbreak she went through. Odom, now 42, has also opened up about the tumultuous years he spent married to Khloe, admitting to having struggled with addiction and feelings of inadequacy.
As Khloe navigates her own journey of healing and self-discovery, fans can’t help but admire her strength and vulnerability in sharing her story. As she continues to find her path, it’s clear that her "pivotal moment" served as a turning point for both her personal growth and the growth of those around her.
