“Mottai” Vijay, a historic Sheeeter, who allegedly participated in three incidents of attacks on truck drivers on the Villupuram-Nagapattinam motorway in the early hours of Wednesday (April 2, 2025), was shot by a special police team in Pudur near Cuddalore.
The police said they were forced to start fire after the accused, the inhabitants of Thilasp in the neighboring Puduchherry and the Gang leader, allegedly attacked two police officers when he was hiding in the cache orchard in M. Pudur.
The defendant was recently involved in the incident of attacking a truck driver, and a special police team headed by an inspector of the Thirupapuliyur police station was established to charge him and other members of his gang. On Wednesday morning, the police intensified their search after Vijay and the others allegedly attacked and robbed three truck drivers about their mobile phones and cash, said Police S. Jeyakumar.
The attack on the truck driver was reported in M. Pudure near Thirupapuliyur and Puduchaatram in the district.
The special team received Intel, which Vijay was hiding at the cashew of a fuck in M. Pudur. When the team tried to detain him, the accused suddenly pulled the machete and attacked Constable Gopi.
Then Inspector Chandran warned him to give up. Vijay, however, allegedly refused to observe and attack the granapathy Constable. When he continued to attack the team despite the inspector warning, the latter launched fire on his self -defense, the police said.
The accused suffered three bullets on his chest and waist. Later the man died on his way to the General Hospital of the Cuddalore, Mr. Jeyakumar said. The case was registered and his body was sent to the postmort test.
The deceased had 30 criminal cases (including Dacoity and an attempt to murder). Three of them were registered in the Cuddalore district, five in the Villupuram district and 22 in the neighboring Puduchherry.

Mr. Jeyakumar said the police detained several other suspects for their alleged involvement in Wednesday’s incident.
