Tirupati Govindadhamam promises to support the needy in cremation services

Members of ‘Govindadhamam’, an electric crematorium run by a civic body in Tirupati, have vowed to serve the needy by reaching out to them.

The facility was jointly started eight years ago by Tirupati Municipal Corporation with the active support of Rotary Club of Tirupati, Arya Vysya Association and Veerabahu Society, which played a key role in disposing of bodies during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, founder-chairman Damodaram Tenkayala inducted the new executive committee of Govindadhamam in a brief ceremony on Sunday. The committee consists of Magam Hemachander as its President, SVM Venkatesh as Secretary, Narendra Babu as Treasurer, K. Munikrishna as Vice-President, Rammohan Reddy as Joint Secretary and Ramakrishna Reddy as Joint Treasurer.

Mr. Hemachander said that Govindadhamam was committed to ensure dignified cremation for all bodies.

Similarly, the committee of the adjacent Sankalpa Siddhi Maha Ganapati Temple has also taken over the new body.
