Annual sports day held at Walajah

The 33rd annual sports day of Vedavalli Vidyalaya High School was held at the Andal Rangasamy Stadium in Ranipet on Saturday.

According to a press release, Vikram Chandrasekaran, analyst of the Delhi Capitals cricket team, was the chief guest. “Students should be actively involved in sports training along with their academics. Engaging in sports activities helps us stay fit, physically and mentally,” he said.

As part of the celebrations, athletic events including relay, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, discus throw, kabaddi, football and volleyball were organized for the students.

Mr. Chandrasekaran distributed championship trophies and certificates to the winners in the presence of Vidya Sampath, Correspondent, Banu, Headmistress and Lakshmi, Headmistress, the report said.
