According to a Daily Mail report, Monica flew to India in the middle of Australia’s World Cup after sensing something was wrong with the 29-year-old all-rounder, who was appointed as Tahlia McGrath’s deputy.

A source told DailyMail that the situation became “just terrible” once Monica arrived in India and that Ashleigh “didn’t look like herself”.

After returning to Sydney, Ashleigh reportedly spoke to Monica and explained why things felt “messy” during the India tour. A source said it left Monica “broken” and “distraught”.

Their marriage appears to have ended soon after. The couple reportedly split in November last year.

The report claimed that the separation was particularly painful for Monica as the couple planned to start a family. “They were going to go to a fertility clinic. They had a reservation that Monica had to cancel,” the insider said.

Ashleigh Gardner has reportedly moved out of their Sydney home, leaving only her wedding rings behind.
