The first “Atirudram” ceremony for global peace was held in the US
The first ever ‘Atirudram’ and ‘Satha Chandi Yagnam’, praying for global peace, prosperity and spiritual well-being, were conducted in Warrenville, Illinois, USA by Bhaskara Prakash Ashram.
A team of Ritwiks (learned priests trained in performing homams) from India performed rituals starting from ‘Gau Puja’, ‘Ganapati Homam’ and ‘Navagraha Homam’, invoking the Hindu Gods.
Consul General of India in Chicago Somnath Ghosh, Vice President of Google Thota Chandrasekhar and a host of devotees attended the event.
Bhaskar Prakasha Ashram President Raghu Ranganathan said the organization has taken on the responsibility of imparting Vedic education and traditional practices to students and the general public across North America. It may be recalled that the ashram was founded by Vimarshananda Nathendra Saraswati Swami, whose lineage goes back to the 18th century Sri Vidya Bhaskararaya.
