The AgriGold Customer Care and Agents Association on Sunday (July 12, 2026) called on the state government to expedite compensation for thousands of AgriGold depositors. They demanded that the proposed special court be operational by the end of July, the establishment of a specialized CID investigation team and the attachment of all the alleged benami properties belonging to the company management.
At a press conference in Vijayawada, the association’s honorary president and CPI national executive member Muppalla Nageswara Rao and deputy general secretary BV Chandrasekhar welcomed the government’s decision to set up a cabinet sub-committee and a special court to resolve the long-pending AgriGold issue.
Mr. Nageswara Rao said the move fulfilled the assurance given by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during the hunger strike in March and welcomed the government’s commitment to settle depositors’ claims within six months.
The association appealed to the management of AgriGold to withdraw the ongoing litigations, release all assets held in the names of family members and benamis and cooperate with the government. She also urged the government to transparently auction attached properties, suggesting that large plots be broken up into smaller plots and that residential plots be developed to maximize returns.
The association has asked pre-2015 AgriGold land buyers to submit sale deeds, Aadhaar details and contact details to the district authorities by July 25, while investors who have deposit slips, bonds and receipts from CR have been asked to submit CID documents within 30 days.
Mr. Chandrasekhar said the association would submit detailed recommendations to the Cabinet sub-committee, including getting the company’s customer database and setting up mandal-level committees to quickly verify claims and address documentation issues.
