Tamil Nadu CM Stalin attends events in Nilgiris to miss sea bridge inauguration

Chief Minister MK Stalin said he had informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his inability to attend the function in Rameshwaram. He said that as he had committed to attend events in the Nilgiris, his ministers-in-charge Thangam Thennarasu and Rajakannappan would welcome the Prime Minister.

Mr. Stalin said he wanted the Prime Minister to promise the people of Tamil Nadu as long as they were on “Tamil soil” and in the southern states that they would not be punished by the delimitation exercise.

Mr. Stalin inaugurated 1,703 completed government works worth ₹ 494.51 crore, including the newly constructed Udhagamandalam Government Medical College and Hospital, at Udhagamandalam on Sunday (April 6, 2025). He also laid foundation stone for 56 new projects in Nilgiris worth ₹ 130.35 crores.
