Nizamabad MP Arvind inaugurated the ₹9 crore Jankampet warehouse

Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri on Thursday inaugurated the newly developed ₹9 crore Jankampet goods depot in the presence of South Central Railway (SCR) officials, including Additional Divisional Railway Manager DS Rama Rao.

The facility is expected to boost freight transport from the region and provide significant benefits to farmers, merchants, traders and the business community by enabling easier movement of goods to different parts of the country. Mr. Arvind said the goods warehouse will strengthen logistics infrastructure in the district and boost economic activity by facilitating efficient transportation of agricultural and commercial products.

Currently, the main commodities handled from the shed are rice, maize and jowar, while inbound shipments include mostly fertilizers and cement. He noted that in the future there is considerable potential for increasing the transport capacity and expanding the range of goods transported by the facility.

The MP also highlighted several railway development projects being undertaken in the region. These include redevelopment of Nizamabad railway station at a cost of ₹ 58 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABS), implementation of Kavach 4.0 security systems, yard reconstruction work and construction of three Road Bridges (RoB) in Nizamabad Parliamentary Constituency.

SCR Public Relations Officer A. Sridhar said the goods warehouse was equipped with modern infrastructure including loading platforms, adequate lighting and access road to facilitate smooth cargo operations, a press release said.

He added that the construction of rooms for workers and traders is progressing quickly and will further improve the facilities of the warehouse.

According to a press release, the new facility is expected to improve the movement of goods in the region, improve market access for agricultural produce and contribute to the overall growth of trade and commerce in and around Nizamabad.
