Vidya 3.0 project launched to nurture future women leaders

HYDERABAD

Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan emphasized the importance of preparing young women for leadership roles beyond academic excellence and said initiatives like Project Vidya 3.0 will equip students with leadership skills, communication skills and a strong sense of social responsibility.

He noted that the program will help young women become confident decision-makers and future leaders who are able to make meaningful contributions to society.

Mr. Ranjan was speaking during the launch of Vidya 3.0 project and Emerging Women Leaders Program (EWLP) at Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Begumpet on Thursday. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Zelalem Birhanu Taffess, Head of UNICEF India Field Office and K. Padmavathi, Principal of the College.

EWLP is a structured one-year leadership development initiative focused on nurturing ethical, socially responsible and capable young women leaders. Implemented by The Good Talk Factory Foundation (TGTF) with Unislink as its CSR partner, Vidya 3.0 aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace readiness through experiential learning.

The program focuses on the development of competencies in the areas of leadership, communication, professional etiquette, organizational skills, entrepreneurship, ethics and social responsibility. A total of 55 final year students have been enrolled in this initiative and will be trained through 15 sessions spread over the year.

In a speech at the gathering, Dr. Zelalem Birhanu Taffesse said investing in girls’ education and leadership development creates long-term benefits for families, communities and the nation. He found that programs that strengthen young women’s life skills and self-confidence are vital to achieving inclusive and sustainable development.

Prof. Welcoming the initiative, K. Padmavathi said the institution remains committed to holistic education that integrates academic excellence with leadership, values ​​and personality development. She said Project Vidya 3.0 will provide students with valuable opportunities to enhance their self-confidence, communication skills and professional skills.

The program was jointly organized by Jyothirmai, Outgoing Student Union President, Swetha, Project Vidya Lead and TGTF team members. The event concluded with an interactive orientation session that introduced the students to the objectives and opportunities under the Vidya 3.0 project.
