Lokayukta police raided 53 places in disproportionate assets cases against 10 government officials

The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Wednesday conducted simultaneous searches at over 53 places across the state in connection with disproportionate assets (DA) cases registered against 10 government officials serving in various departments.

Raids were conducted at residences, offices and properties of relatives of the accused officials in Bengaluru, Chitradurga, Kalaburagi, Bengaluru South, Shivamogga, Raichur and Tumakuru districts.

According to the Lokayukta Police, the searches revealed immovable property worth ₹37.95 crore and movable property worth ₹11.88 crore, taking the total value of assets traced during the operation to be around ₹49.83 crore.

The Lokayukta Police said further investigations are underway to ascertain the extent of the disproportionate assets allegedly acquired by the accused in violation of the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
