An organization operating under the name ‘School of Aesthetics’ has come under the scanner of the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) after a surprise inspection found that it was conducting unauthorized aesthetic medicine training programs at a clinic in Hyderabad. The inspection was carried out at the HairSigns clinic in Hitech City on Tuesday 7th July.

TGMC claimed that the sessions were conducted by a person with dental qualifications and that the participants included dentists and MBBS graduates undergoing training in aesthetic procedures. The council expressed concern about the findings and said that aesthetic procedures and related training should only be carried out by appropriately qualified and competent professionals in accordance with established medical standards and regulatory norms.

The TGMC said the findings of the inspection will be submitted to its general body for detailed deliberation and appropriate action. He added that the inspection report will be forwarded to the Telangana Dental Council to take necessary action regarding the alleged involvement of the dentist in conducting the training programme.

The council also said it would initiate steps to register FIRs against institutions allegedly conducting unauthorized aesthetic medicine training programs, saying such activities pose a significant risk to public health and patient safety.
