Sai has now registered four consecutive 50+ points for GT, becoming the first player in franchise history to do so. The previous best for Gujarat Titans was three consecutive 50-plus scores achieved by Hardik Pandya in 2022 and later matched by Sai and Shubman Gill. The Gujarat opener is now the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 and currently holds the Orange Cap with 554 runs in 13 matches. Sai’s latest milestone came in a high-scoring encounter at the Eden Gardens that ended Gujarat Titans’ five-match winning streak. Chasing a daunting target of 248, GT fought hard with half-centuries from Sai, Gill and Jose Buttler but ended up on 218/4. Earlier in the match, KKR completely dominated with the bat after Finn Allen and Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s explosive knocks at 247/2. Allen smashed 93 off just 35 balls with 10 sixes while Raghuvanshi remained unbeaten on 82. GT’s sloppy start proved costly as they dropped four catches during the innings, including crucial chances offered by Allen, Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green. These missed opportunities ended up hurting Gujarat badly as KKR kept their playoff hopes alive with a crucial win.
