A device containing low-grade explosives was found on the premises of a private hospital in Pune’s Hadapsar area on Wednesday (May 13, 2026), police said.
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was immediately called to the scene and took the object to a nearby ground and disposed of it, they said.
“A device containing low-quality explosives was found in the hospital premises. BDDS was called in and successfully disposed of the explosives,” Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar told reporters outside the hospital at night.
“The Pune police, its crime branch and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) are investigating the case from all possible angles, including terrorism,” the IPS chief informed.
