Sanju Samson has already become a Chennai chettan after switching from RR to CSK ahead of the IPL 2026 season. Now the wicketkeeper-paltter is trying to connect with the local CSK fans as he got involved in beach cricket with them.
Samson arrived without security personnel and quickly blended in with the Chennai fans as he showed no superstar attitude and decided to play cricket with them as part of the gang. The CSK opener even batted left-handed and hit a big shot as the fans loved to mingle with him.
Samson shared some hilarious moments with fans as the video quickly went viral on social media. You can watch the clip below:
SAMSON FEELS THE LOVE FROM CSK
Samson spoke about how he felt the love from the CSK fans right before he even played a game for them and how the support made him more responsible as a player.
Just when the trade discussions were going on, as always, the media picked up on it and said that Sanju might come to CSK. Since then I felt some crazy love for me. Whenever I came to Chennai or whenever a local guy met me, he would say ‘hi Sanju, come to CSK’.”
“I was just saying in the meet and greet that they were asking what you have to say about CSK fans, like when you play in a match for them, you don’t feel like making a mistake. You think twice before you play a shot. That’s how I became responsible after joining CSK,” Samson said on the Super Kings podcast.
Samson has repaid the faith CSK reposed in him by being their biggest run-scorer so far this season. The wicketkeeper has scored 430 runs from 11 matches at an average of 53.75 and a strike rate of 169.29.
He hit two centuries this season, making him the franchise’s first Indian and only the fourth player overall to register multiple IPL centuries in the same season. CSK are currently in contention for the playoffs and will rely on Samson to get them over the line.
