A young woman was found dead in her house at Kidur Kundankeradukka in Kumbala in Kasaragod district. She was reportedly grieving the death of her fiance in a bicycle accident. The deceased was identified as Prafulla, daughter of B. Jayanandan.
Police said Prafulla got engaged to Mani, a native of Tamilnadu, about four months ago. Mani was undergoing treatment after sustaining serious injuries in a bike accident a month ago and died recently.
According to relatives, Prafulla was alone at home when the incident took place when the family members had gone to attend a wedding reception.
The police found a suicide note in the house. In the note, Prafulla reportedly expressed her wish to be buried at the same place where Mani was cremated. An investigation is underway. The body will be handed over to the family after the autopsy.
