Three forest officials stranded in Bonacaud forest in Thiruvananthapuram during the ongoing tiger census were located on Tuesday.
Section Forest Officer Vineetha, Beat Forest Officer Rajesh and Beat Forest Assistant Rajesh R. are said to have gone missing after heading for field work in the Paruthipally-Peppara block on Monday as part of the All India Tiger Estimation. They later failed to return to base camp until evening, prompting a nighttime search operation by the rapid response team.
The inability to establish communications using their assigned devices also raised concerns. The personnel were eventually traced to a location near Erattumukku at around 8.30 am on Tuesday.
