District Collectors were on Monday directed to achieve 90% progress in voter mapping by the end of the month as the Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce a special intensive review (SIR) soon.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana, C Sudharshan Reddy directed the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), AERO, Booth Level Officers (BLO) to visit slums and gated communities for mapping by involving representatives of slums, gated communities and residential associations. In a video conference held with all Collectors who are District Electoral Officers (DEOs) and EROs at SIR on Monday, the Director General issued instructions to involve food supplement vendors, self-help groups and employee unions to speed up mapping in their constituencies.
The Director General asked to focus on the voters who are dead, migrant and permanently displaced and take appropriate action to rectify the details as per standard operating procedure (SOP). Incorrect mappings should be corrected immediately. Mapping of VVIPs and VIP voters should also be addressed.

Mr. Reddy warned the BLO against sharing any form of information or OTP with unauthorized persons. Booth level agent assistance should be provided only for house or voter identification.
Further, DEOs, EROs and supervisor level officers have been directed to set up help desks to help voter mapping.
