
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government will continue to extend its support to the accelerated development of Telangana in a more vigorous manner as the Center is of the view that the development of the states formed the basis of his government’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, a developed India.
Mr Modi also said judicious use of petrol is a must to save foreign exchange and minimize disruption in case of war.
“Governments of different parties in the states are natural in a democracy. The development of the states is of paramount importance for the comprehensive development of the country. It is my wish that Viksit Bharat 2047 materializes,” the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister was speaking after inaugurating/laying foundation stones for the development works spree with an estimated expenditure of ₹ 9,400 crore in various parts of the state on Sunday (May 10, 2026).
Mr. Modi looked relaxed as he jovially responded to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s request. Recalling how Gujarat had become a model for the country’s development during Mr. Modi’s 10-year rule as Chief Minister, the Chief Minister wanted the same assistance to be replicated in Telangana.
‘You better join me’
“We are ready to provide benefits in equal measure to Telangana. But the state will have to lose half of what it is providing now from the Center and you (Chief Minister) will not be able to achieve your goals. It is better if you join me,” the Prime Minister said.
Projects started
Mentioning the projects like Zaheerabad Industrial Park (National Industrial Manufacturing Zone), IOC Terminal at Malkapur and the multi-track railway line between Kazipet and Vijayawada, which he inaugurated or laid the foundation stone for, Mr. Modi said these major projects were aimed at making Telangana a manufacturing hub. They envisioned infrastructure development leading to the creation of huge employment opportunities besides strengthening the connectivity of the state.
Zaheerabad Industrial Corridor
“India is currently in a reforming pace and at the same time we have given impetus to the development of modern infrastructure. The Zaheerabad Industrial Corridor, for example, is part of the goals of Viksit Bharat. The corridor will develop into a smart city with world-class infrastructure and an advanced ICT network. All facilities required by global investors will be created here,” he said.

PM Mitra Park in Warangal inaugurated
Inaugurated on Sunday, PM Mitra Park in Warangal is expected to once again revolutionize the textile sector and all central schemes/subsidies including PIL scheme will be applicable to the units being set up here. Referring to the advanced connectivity, he said that the center has initiated the development of connectivity in an unprecedented manner. More than ₹2,00,000 was spent on the development of highways alone. Referring to the commencement of the Mahbubnagar-Gudeballur four-lane works, which is part of the Hyderabad-Goa Economic Corridor, he said the expansion of the national highway would benefit both Telangana and Karnataka.
Recalling how his government prioritized release of funds for infrastructure development in Telangana, he said the railway budget, which was less than ₹1,000 crore for Telangana in the erstwhile undivided state, was increased to ₹5,500 crore. Over ₹50,000 crore worth of work has been underway in the state as of now, with five Vande Bharat Express and six Amrut Bharat Express operating from Telangana.
Giving equal priority to energy security, the Center launched the Malkapur terminal to cater to Telangana’s needs and strengthen the supply chain infrastructure there. “We are working on ethanol blending, pipeline gas networks on an unprecedented scale, as judicious use of petrol is a must to save foreign exchange and minimize outages in case of war,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the youth of Telangana had high aspirations to play their role in achieving ‘Viksit Telangana’ on the line of progress towards the goals of Viksit Bharat – 2047.
