RCB vs MI Live Score, IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and elected to bat first against Mumbai Indians here at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, RCB’s new home ground for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, in Raipur on Sunday.
There was uncertainty over Suryakumar Yadav’s availability after he traveled home for the birth of his daughter, but he continues to lead the five-time champions in the absence of regular skipper Hardik Pandya, who remains under observation due to a back problem.
RCB arrive in Raipur looking to halt a worrying slump in form. Back-to-back defeats against GT and LSG pushed them to fourth place, tightening the battle for playoff spots. The return of Phil Salt is right for RCB, but concerns remain over their bowling attack, especially with Josh Hazlewood struggling of late. Rain has curtailed the team’s practice, but a win today could boost their top-four finish as the opposition close in.
Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, head into this contest with little margin for error. At ninth in the table, every game from here feels like a knock-out game for MI, who will once again rely heavily on the opening partnership of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, especially with the middle order struggling to deliver consistently this season.
Historically, Mumbai have dominated this rivalry with 19 wins in 35 meetings, although RCB have had the upper hand in recent encounters.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar, who won the toss, said: “We will bowl first. Quite obviously, the surface is good and quite hard. But we will try to get them as soon as possible and go for the chase. The conditions are not unfamiliar to be honest. It is a new stadium, good fans and a great pitch I would say and we are all looking forward to the same team, but we are looking forward to that game. It is important to be present and play to our strengths, so we will focus more on ourselves than on other teams, whether we play on the power play or when we play on the power play, we will try to do the best we can.
MI stand-in captain Suryakumar, meanwhile, said, “We are quite confident of batting first. The big ground, the black ground of the wicket and the runs on the board will always put pressure on the other team. We are going with the same team. We have always had a good chat about bowling. It is rough on the bowlers. We are trying to improve and improve every day.”
