K. Lakshmi, who was stranded in Muscat, Oman, was reunited with her family after her repatriation on Friday.
Ms. Lakshmi, a native of Vaasalatippa village in the district of Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema, was sent to Muscat by the local agent in September 2025. She was recruited to work as a maid.
In an official statement, Center for Migration’s Nodal Officer Konaseema V. Subba Rao said Ms. Lakshmi was subjected to physical harassment at her workplace in Muscat. “The family members of the woman sought the help of KCM for her rescue and repatriation, following which steps were initiated for her return,” he added.
