A 25-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after he was allegedly stabbed by unknown persons in Chilkalgud on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Yavanna, a resident of Jawahar Nagar.
According to the police, Yavanna had come to Chilkalguda to meet his friends when he was attacked by a group of persons in Indranagar Colony around 9.30 pm.
Preliminary investigations suggest the attack may have been related to a love affair, although police said all angles were being investigated.
The victim suffered serious knife wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries within about an hour.
The Chilkalguda police have registered a case of murder and have launched an investigation to identify and trace those involved in the attack. Further investigation is underway.
