Members of the Zomi community in Manipur are planning to take the body of late Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Vungzagin Valte to the national capital to stage a protest outside the BJP headquarters.
Valte was physically attacked by a mob in Imphal on 4 May 2023resulting in paralysis, and died on 21 February 2026 at a hospital in Haryana’s Gurugram. His body is kept in the Churachandpur District Hospital Mortuary in Manipur.
