The Congress and its allies have been roundly rejected for pursuing “divisive politics aimed at north-south fragmentation of the nation”, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said on Monday, saying voters across the country had taught the party a “befitting lesson”.
Pointing to the latest election results, Mr. Rao argued that public opinion at the national level is clearly turning against the Congress and the INDIA alliance and in favor of the BJP model of governance. Speaking to the media during the victory celebrations at the BJP state office, he said the results reflected the growing public confidence in Prime Minister Modi’s governance.
