Kochi-Muziris Biennale President Jitish Kallat will announce the curator of the seventh edition on May 8. Before that, on May 6, 2026, India will arrive in Venice not with one story, but as a chorus.
Focusing on the ideas of home, memory and belonging and their shifting registers, the India Pavilion hosts the exhibition ‘Geographies of Distance: Remembering Home’ at the 61st Venice Biennale. The festival runs from May 9, previews from May 6 to 8. Presented by the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Ministry of Culture, curated by Amin Jafferfive artists will be featured: Alwar Balasubramaniam, Ranjani Shettar, Sumakshi Singh, Skarma Sonam Tashi and Asim Waqif. The exhibition at the pavilion is supported by Isha Ambani, chairperson of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center and Sunil Munjal, founder of the Serendipity Arts Foundation.
