Five institutions in Tamil Nadu received awards and 69 students were recognized as Olympiad winners at the National Road Safety Education Excellence Awards 2025-26. A total of 134 schools from the state, including Chennai, participated. Several schools from the state were named as the best, while select institutions received special recognition, the report said. Launched in 2024, the National Road Safety Mission has reached over 5,000 schools across 35 states and Union Territories and engaged over 2.2 million students. The program includes school zone safety audits and a safety assessment framework.
