After heavy rain, uprooted trees wreaked havoc in the city on April 29 and 30, pourakarmikas and officials of the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation’s Forest Cell had a hectic working day clearing the debris.
Uprooted trees and broken branches were still being removed on Saturday, three days after the downpour, underscoring the extent of the damage the city had caused. The situation persists despite the coordinated efforts of the Bengaluru Traffic Police, NGOs, volunteer groups and other agencies that have joined the clean-up operations.
