Voting took place in 15 booths in two constituencies West Bengal The South 24 Parganas district was largely peaceful and incident-free on Saturday (May 2, 2026) amid heavy security deployment, though protests were reported from Falta, where a decision on fresh elections is still awaited.
Voters turned out in large numbers for the second time, with booths in Magrahat Paschim constituency recording a turnout of 86.11%, while booths in Diamond Harbor recorded a turnout of 87.6% as of 5:00 p.m., according to Election Commission data. This reflects the strong voter turnout seen during the original polling day and is expected to increase as final election figures are yet to be released.
