Amid fresh unrest in Manipur, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the state government on Friday (May 1, 2026) resumed talks with the Kuki-Zo insurgent groups who entered into a ceasefire agreement (SoO) with the government.
The dialogue, which resumed after two months, is significant as it was also attended by Manipur government officials — the first such meeting after the election of a government led by Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh was resumed in Manipur on February 4.
