BRS responsible for ‘present state’ of KLIP, has no moral right to criticize Congress govt: Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy alleged that BRS leaders, who caused huge losses to the exchequer during the previous BRS government, are now brazenly criticizing the Congress government over the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
In a public meeting during his visit to Sattupalli on Sunday, Mr. Srinivas Reddy flayed the BRS leaders who visited the Kannepalli KLIP gas station in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district earlier in the day.
“It is ironic that those responsible for the current state of KLIP due to alleged irregularities in its construction are now making baseless allegations against the Congress government,” he said.
Claiming that KLIP was built at a whopping cost of nearly ₹1,00,000 crore during the BRS regime for kickbacks, Mr Reddy said the BRS leaders had no moral right to criticize the Congress government.
“The Indiramma government has been persistently striving for the welfare of the poor by introducing Indiramma housing and various other welfare schemes,” he said.
Earlier, the minister had laid the foundation stones for development works worth ₹ 15 crore in Kallur.
