Oreo fans, congratulations!
Oreo is shaking up its line of cookies with a new limited-edition flavor that aims to bring the taste of the classic red, white and blue popsicle straight to the snack aisle.
Oreo Firecracker Pop is coming to market
The brand’s latest release, “Firecracker Pop,” features golden Oreo wafers sandwiched around a triple-layer cream that mimics the raspberry, lemon and blue raspberry flavors of the nostalgic summertime treat.
Called “Firecracker Pop,” the new Oreo is a gold-wafer sandwich cookie with a triple-layer creme filling that mimics the colors and flavors of the nostalgic red, white, and blue popsicle.
The filling is divided into three different flavors: raspberry in the red layer, lemon in the white layer and blue raspberry in the blue layer, stacked in the same order as the original popsicle. Instead of a single uniform cream, the three-layer design allows for more than one flavor to hit each bite, which the company touts as a fresh twist on past limited-edition Oreo styles.
Nabisco, the maker of Oreo under parent company Mondelēz International, is billing the Firecracker Pop cookie as a limited-time summer treat associated with backyard barbecues and warm-weather celebrations.
The cookies are scheduled to hit the shelves of major retailers across the United States beginning May 4, 2026, and will only be available while supplies last.
The packages are expected to come in standard snack cookie sizes, which are located in the regular cookie aisle rather than a special section, making them easy to grab alongside other Oreos.
More about Oreo Firework cookies
The Firecracker Pop flavor builds on the history of Oreo’s short-lived themed releases, such as the “Firework” Oreo with red, white and blue crackling candies introduced a few years ago.
These earlier “Firework” cookies used cream injected with crackling pieces of candy that were meant to crack on the tongue, similar to Pop Rocks, but the Firecracker Pop version focuses on bold fruit flavors rather than fizz. The new line also echoes Oreo’s past patriotic and seasonal lines, including Olympic-style red, white and blue cookies, a candy corn-flavored edition for fall, and a peppermint-flavored version for winter.
Nutritionally, the new variant is expected to fall into the same general calorie range as other cream-filled Oreo styles, though exact figures will depend on package and serving size. The company has not announced any promotions or contests for Firecracker Pop, focusing on flavor and limited time availability.
