Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, seeking a solution to the problems faced by tobacco farmers, urged the Center to take all necessary steps to reform the tobacco auction system.
In a press statement issued after meeting Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi and presenting a memorandum on Wednesday (April 29), the MP said several key issues were discussed, including a comprehensive review of the current season, the need for urgent measures to ensure long-term structural solutions to farmers’ problems and the importance of avoiding monopolistic control.
