
A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck parts of northern Japan early Monday, but no damage or casualties were reported, the AP reported.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has not issued any tsunami warnings.
The earthquake struck 18 kilometers west of the town of Sarabetsu on Japan’s northernmost main island of Hokkaido at a depth of 81 kilometers, the US Geological Survey said. She measured the strength of the earthquake at 6.1 degrees.
