The Kozhikode Corporation Council meeting held on Saturday (April 25, 2026) witnessed sharp criticism from officials over alleged delays in clearing accounts and administrative lapses, with members raising concerns about the civic body’s inefficiency.
Councilors across the ruling front and the opposition said there was a repeat of officials’ negligence and that action, including suspension, should be taken.
This issue came to the fore in a meeting chaired by Mayor O. Sadasivan, where the Chairman of the Standing Committee for Development VP Manoj criticized the city administration sections for mismanagement and pointed out the technical problems in K-SMART through a challenge. He specifically pointed to the failure of officials to settle accounts related to two inauguration events held in October last year.
