There has been strong reaction on social media since the shooting at the White House dinner. Many users wish for President Donald Trump to be safe.
“Strong leadership in a chaotic moment. Donald J. Trump kept his focus where it belongs, safety first, showing determination instead of panic. Kudos to law enforcement. They acted quickly and stopped a dangerous situation, and that kind of recognition builds trust when it counts,” wrote one user on Truth Social.

One user commented: “Praying for you, Melanie, JD and the country. This irrational behavior and hatred towards you, your family and your administration must stop.”
“Mr. President, I pray that the hedge is on you, Melania, and everyone present,” chimed in another.
“Thanks to the Secret Service and law enforcement for acting quickly, catching the shooter and restoring order; the message that the country is constantly moving forward is exactly what leadership should be projecting at a time like this,” wrote a user on X.
However, not everyone was convinced. Some users claimed it was a “fake” shooting.
“If he doesn’t have blood on his ear and fist pumping in front of the stars and stripes, this is 100% fake news, the biggest fake news since the ear campaign,” wrote one.

“There is no fucking way a man with a gun could have gotten anywhere near that building. It wasn’t just one level of metal detectors leading up to an event like this with Trump. There would have been multiple layers of security. It’s bullshit and obviously staged,” another user commented.
One user wrote: “This was staged so he could get a hit in his poll numbers and take attention away from Epstein. Probably Mossad.”
“Always an incompetent showman. Another fake ‘incident’ playing the victim and getting money from a brain dead cult,” commented one user.
“See? It’s all a publicity stunt. He doesn’t care about anyone, not even the people he set up for it,” chimed in another.

Trump originally wanted the evening program to continue. However, security protocols required him to return to the White House. Subsequently, a press conference was planned to resolve the situation.
“Law enforcement has requested that we leave the premises per protocol, which we will do immediately. I will be holding a press conference from the White House press conference in 30 minutes,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“The first lady, the vice president and all the cabinet members are in perfect condition. We will talk to you in half an hour. I have spoken to all the officials who are in charge of the event and within 30 days (sic) we will change the date,” he added.
