The Kadaladi police in Kalasapakkam Assembly constituency in Tiruvannamalai district on Thursday arrested a 47-year-old polling agent for allegedly damaging the EVM equipment in the polling booth.
Police said the arrested person has been identified as N. Venkatesan, a native of Kilpalur village. Initial investigations revealed that it was around 10:00 AM when Venkatesan noticed that many voters were allegedly forced to throw the AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol into the polling booth. Distraught over this, he allegedly damaged the machine before police surrounded him at the polling station.
