Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan has hinted that Praful Hinge, whose record-breaking performance on his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut grabbed headlines a few days ago, may have to warm the bench at home against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday.
Hinge, who plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket, made everyone stand up and applaud after becoming the first bowler in IPL history to take three wickets in the first innings against Rajasthan Royals, dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag.
At Tuesday’s coin toss, Kishan talked about several changes. “Oh, we have a few changes like Madhusanka coming in and I think Hinge might miss out but I’m still not sure,” Kishan said when asked about the Sunrisers Hyderabad playing combination. He also mentioned the inclusion of spinner Harsh Dubey.
“And then Harsh Dubey is back in the side because I think it might be a bit of a slow track and we have to keep the spin option mainly to get wickets,” added Kishan. However, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain did not give the exact reason why Hinge might miss out.
Interestingly, Sunrisers Hyderabad named three overseas bowlers in the playing eleven after Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel sent them into bat first. Both Hinge and Madushanka are part of an impact sub-list with the Sri Lankan to replace one player in the second innings.
Why Praful Hinge doesn’t have to play?
After taking an impressive 4/34, Hinge was expensive against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) conceding 60 runs at the cost of just one wicket in his four overs. While his performance may be one of the reasons why Hinge was kept out of the starting XI, depending on the match situation, he may come in as a substitute in the second innings.
