Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Congress of betraying the country and its women by not supporting what he described as “33% reservation for women”.
“It is a great injustice to the society, south India and women. I ask DMK one direct question – Why did you oppose this bill? What did you get out of it? You say that Tamil Nadu has been defeated by Delhi. You have not defeated Delhi, you have defeated the share of South India,” he said during the election campaign in Coimbatore. (The DMK and Congress opposed the delimitation-related constitutional amendment bill.)
