Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who has been training his guns on the Congress government, claimed that the Congress’s approval had given approval to the Centre’s proposal to install electricity meters in agricultural pump sets in Telangana. Those at the helm of the Congress government in Telangana have agreed to the proposal in New Delhi, he claimed at a huge public meeting christened ‘Praja Ashirwada Sabha’ held in Jagtial town late on Monday evening.
The meeting was organized to mark the merger of former Minister T. Jeevan Reddy and several other local Congress leaders in the BRS. Flanked by Mr. Jeevan Reddy and a host of senior BRS leaders, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao in his inimitable style lashed out at the ruling Congress party and accused it of deceiving all sections of people by not keeping its election promises.
