Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Monday (April 20, 2026) termed digital arrest scams as the “most alarming” and deadliest among cybercrimes, leading not only to financial loss to victims but also to “mere feelings of violation”.
The CJI said that such cyber crimes must not be treated as mere economic crimes but as a crime against human dignity.
