The 15-year-old became the youngest cricketer to play for India in international cricket but also ended up with an unwanted record during the second T20I against England at Old Trafford in Manchester on Saturday.The left-handed batsman became the first Indian to be dismissed on his T20I debut.

A fearless start from youth

Sooryavanshi looked completely unfazed by the occasion. He scored 14 runs off just 10 balls while hitting two sixes in an entertaining cameo.The youngster announced himself in style when he crushed England fast bowler Jofra Archer for a towering six over the keeper’s head. He followed that up with another clean hit over the ropes from Josh Tongue.The teenager’s entertaining knock ended in the fifth over.Sooryavanshi, looking to continue his attacking streak, stepped up against spinner Will Jacks but was beaten by the flight of the ball. He thus broke the long-standing record held by Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar made his debut at 16 years and 205 days.
