Wimbledon Day 5 schedule: Complete match schedule with Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka

With third-round action at Wimbledon on Friday 3 July, the biggest names in action at the All England Club include 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, former world number one Naomi Osaka and defending men’s champion Jannik Sinner.

For viewers in India, play on the outdoor courts begins at 15:30 IST, while the action on the center court begins at 19:00 IST. Matches on Court #1 are scheduled to start at 6:30 PM IST.

The headline act on Center Court is Djokovic, who opens tonight’s match against France’s Arthur Rinderknech as the seven-time Wimbledon champion continues his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam singles title. World number one Sabalenka is next up against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko, and Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will face American Michael Zheng.

However, one of the biggest topics ahead of Day 5 is Sinner’s absence on center court.

The defending champion, who traditionally opened the championship on Center Court on Monday, was moved to Court No. 1 for a third-round clash with American Jenson Brooksby. Sinner also played his second round match on Center Court, defeated Portugal’s Nuno Borges in straight sets after surviving a five-set scare against Miomir Kecmanovic in the opening round.

The decision to schedule the world number one away from Wimbledon’s premier court has raised eyebrows, especially given his status as the defending champion. Instead, Court No. 1 will begin with a high-profile women’s singles clash between Osaka and Australia’s Daria Kasatkina before Sinner takes to the court.

The Italian enters the match in impressive form, 40-3 in 2026 and continuing his pursuit of a fifth Grand Slam title.

In the final singles match on Court No. 1, American stars Coco Gauff and Claire Liu will compete for a place in the fourth round.

Court No. 2 also boasts a strong line-up. Brazilian teenager Joo Fonseca takes on Roman Safiullin before Jessica Pegula takes on Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The day’s play ends with an all-round clash between Hubert Hurkacz and Tommy Paul.

On Court No. 3, Belinda Bencic will take on Anna Kalinskaya before Daniil Medvedev takes on Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff in a match scheduled not before 17:00 IST. Karolína Muchová will then finish her singles match against Thai Mananchaya Sawangkaewová.

Outside of the main courts, there are also some notable singles matches on the agenda. Ekaterina Alexandrová takes on American teenager Iva Jovic on Court 12, while Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina faces Hungary’s Mrton Fucsovics later in the day.

On court 18, the reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejčíková will face compatriot Nikola Bartunková, the Spanish youngster Rafael Jodar will face the Japanese Shintaro Mochizuki.

The doubles competition also continues on the outdoor courts with several top seeds in action. Former world number one Venus Williams returns in the mixed doubles draw alongside Germany’s Kevin Krawietz, while older sister Serena Williams has been left out of Friday’s schedule as she continues to struggle with a knee injury.
