Printed from the narrative of fuel shortage in hyderabad there are countless small and medium-sized kiosk owners who keep the city running. “A valid plate now costs ₹40. Earlier it was ₹30. Why? I used to buy a commercial roll for ₹1,800, now it is not even available for ₹6,000,” says Praveen, who runs Durga Bhavani Tiffins in Yellareddyguda.
Yards away is Lama Chinese Fast Food, where prices have gone up by ₹10 per meal. “I’m caught in a bind. If I raise it too much, I’ll lose customers. I’ve already lost. I’m never free this time, but we’ll see,” says the owner, pointing to the empty chairs in the small store.
