“To be honest, when we got to the final I felt a sense of calm confidence. But you also understand it’s not going to be a cakewalk, it’s a final and there’s another team that’s played really, really well to get there and obviously beat a lot of good sides, so they’re also very confident in what they want to do.”
“Having a history of near misses and near misses in the past where we’ve made it to the final and not been able to win, I think it’s given us more motivation to keep our nerve because the league has become a lot more competitive. We’ve had to play really good cricket to get to the final. It’s not a fluke. It’s not a fluke. We beat some really good teams today that we deserved.”
HOW RCB WON IPL 2026
RCB’s winning run in IPL 2025 was built on versatile contributions rather than relying on a few stars. Players like Phil Salt made explosive starts while Krunal Pandya put in crucial performances with both bat and ball.
Their bowling unit, led by the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar, ensured control at crucial moments, especially in high-pressure situations. Under head coach Andy Flower, the team has shown improved tactical awareness and adaptability.
One of the standout aspects of their campaign was their ability to perform away from home, shake off previous inconsistencies and achieve results in different venues. That consistency eventually proved decisive as RCB held their nerve in the final to clinch the much-awaited title.
