
Anaya with father Sanjay Bangar NEW DELHI: Anaya Bangar recently opened up about her gender confirmation surgery in Thailand and the emotional journey behind it. Sharing a heartfelt post with a picture from the hospital, Anaya highlighted how difficult the process was for everyone around her, while also revealing the role of father Sanjay Bangar throughout this period. “This journey has not been easy… not only for me, but for my family,” Anaya wrote in an Instagram post, making it clear that everyone went through a period of adjustment.

Although his support was not immediate, Anaya described it as “genuine, unconditional and strong”. Anaya summed up the experience by saying, “Growth takes time. Love takes time. But when it comes, it’s worth everything,” showing how patience played a key role in strengthening their bond.Before transitioning, Anaya was known as an Aryan and followed a path in cricket, playing at competitive levels and representing Mumbai in under-16 cricket and Pondicherry in under-19 matches and even appearing in the Mumbai under-23 trials.Looking back on her childhood, Anaya shared how it always looked different. “When I was around eight or nine years old, I snuck into my mother’s room, put on her clothes, looked in the mirror and said I was a girl,” Anaya previously recalled, revealing that the journey to self-identity began very early in life.
