The Congress and the DMK on Monday began the second round of seat-sharing talks for the Puducherry assembly polls.
While the Congress side was led by Member of Parliament and PCC chief V. Vaithilingam, in the DMK the negotiating team was represented by its MP and party coordinator for UT S. Jagathrakshakan.
During the first round of talks on Saturday, both sides stuck to their stance on leading the INDIA bloc in the UT for the 2026 elections.
With the March 23 deadline for filing nomination papers approaching, there is pressure from aspirants from both parties on the leadership to agree on a pact as soon as possible.
