Karamana police arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his mother and brother after questioning him about his drinking habits.
The accused, identified as Jayakumar of Pappanamcode, has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
According to the police, the argument took place when Jayakumar was drinking alcohol along with friends at his house. His mother Girija Kumari and brother Vijayakumar questioned him about drinking, leading to a heated argument. The dispute soon escalated and Jayakumar allegedly assaulted both of them.
The Karamana police registered a case based on a complaint. The accused was remanded in judicial custody after being produced before the court.
